In this introductory Scala session by Martin Mauch of crealytics (www.crealytics.com) you’ll get both some background knowledge on and a first-hand coding experience in Scala, a modern OO-FP hybrid language.

We’ll be starting by solving some of the “99 Scala Problems” - Github , so bring your laptops for maximum enjoyment! Bonus points for installing SBT up-front and letting it run once to download all necessary dependencies.

After that we’ll compare Scala and Java, learn about the advantages and disadvantages of Scala and how to proceed learning the language in case you got interested.
